Xbox/Microsoft Store – Activation of a code:

Required Information:

  • A Microsoft account (Xbox Live account) with the region set to match the code.
  • An Xbox console connected to the internet, or a Windows PC (with Microsoft Store app) or a web browser.
  • A digital code for a game or subscription (25-character code in a 5x5 format).

Activation Steps (via Microsoft account website):

  1. Navigate to account.microsoft.com/billing/redeem, which is the code redemption page. Log in with your Microsoft account (the one on which you want to redeem the code).
  2. In the field labeled “Redeem your code or gift card,” enter your 25-character code.
  3. Click “Next” and confirm the redemption. The system will validate the code and add the content (game, subscription, or credit) to your account.

Activation Steps (on an Xbox console):

  1. On your Xbox console, press the Guide button (the Xbox logo on the controller) and navigate to the Store.
  2. In the Store, find the option “Use a code.” On Xbox Series X/S, this is available on the Store home; on Xbox One, you can find it under the Games or Apps section.
  3. Enter the 25-character code using the on-screen keyboard or the Xbox mobile app.
  4. Confirm the redemption. If the code is valid, you will receive a confirmation that the content is now associated with your account, and you can immediately begin downloading the game or using the service.

Important Notices:

  • Similar to PlayStation, Xbox codes can be region-locked. For example, a code purchased for the US market may not work on an account set to a different country. Pay attention to the region information when purchasing a code.
  • After a code is activated, the game or service is tied to your Microsoft/Xbox account. It cannot be transferred to another account, so make sure you redeem the code on the correct account.
