Nintendo Switch – Activation of a code:

Required Information:

  • A Nintendo Account linked to your Nintendo Switch console.
  • A Nintendo Switch console with internet access, or a web browser to access the official Nintendo website.
  • An activation code (16-character code) for a game or content intended for the Nintendo eShop.

Activation Steps (via official website):

  1. Open Nintendo’s code redemption page: ec.nintendo.com/redeem.
  2. Log in with your Nintendo Account (using your Nintendo Network ID if required, or your Nintendo Account email and password).
  3. Enter your 16-character code into the designated field.
  4. Confirm by clicking “Next” and follow any additional prompts to add the content to your account.

Activation Steps (on the Switch console):

  1. From the Switch HOME menu, open the Nintendo eShop application.
  2. Select the user profile (Nintendo Account) you want to redeem the code on, if prompted.
  3. In the eShop, navigate to the “Enter Code” section – you can find this option on the left side menu.
  4. Enter the 16-character code using the on-screen keyboard.
  5. Confirm the redemption by pressing “OK.” The system will add the game or content to your library/download queue.

Important Notices:

  • Nintendo eShop codes are region-specific according to the country/region set on your Nintendo Account. For example, a code from a European game release will only work if your Nintendo Account is set to a European country. Verify your account’s region and any code restrictions before attempting to redeem.
  • After redeeming the code, the game or content is linked to your Nintendo Account. You can download the game from the eShop (check the “Redownload” section if it’s not automatically in your download queue). The code cannot be used again once redeemed.
