PlayStation (PSN) – Activation via a purchased account:

Required Information:

  • Login credentials for the purchased PlayStation Network account – the email (or online ID) and password.
  • Access to the email inbox associated with that account (if provided) to confirm changes and verify logins.
  • A PlayStation 4 or 5 console with internet access.

Activation Steps (using the purchased PSN account on the console):

  1. Turn on the console. On the welcome screen, select New User or Add User.
  2. Choose “Create a User” and accept the terms.
  3. Sign in with the provided email (or PSN Online ID) and password for the account. The console will log you into this PSN account.
  4. If two-step verification is enabled, enter the code that may have been sent to the account’s email or phone (get this code from the seller as needed).
  5. After logging in, go to the console’s settings: Settings > Account Management > Activate as Your Primary PS4/PS5 and select “Activate.” This will set the console as the primary console for this account (allowing games from this account to be played on other accounts on the console).
  6. On the PlayStation Store, download the purchased game (find it in your Library under Purchased). Start downloading the game.
  7. Once the game is downloaded, log out of the purchased account and switch back to your own PSN account on the console (or create a new personal account if you don’t have one).
  8. You will now be able to play the game on your personal account – because the console is set as primary for the account that owns the game, the game is shared to all users on this console. Your save progress and trophies will be kept on your own account.
  9. Keep the purchased account on the console, but do not use it for other purposes (such as playing other games online or making purchases). It’s only there to share the game. Avoid unnecessary changes to it to prevent disabling the sharing.

Important Notices:

  • You can have only one primary PSN account active on the console at a time. Activating a new primary account will deactivate the previous primary account on that console.
  • Do not share the purchased account details with others and do not attempt to add the account to multiple consoles at the same time (outside of official family sharing allowances), as this could lead to the account being locked.
  • If the purchased account stops working (e.g., the seller removed it or changed the password), contact the seller’s support for assistance in resolving the issue.
